Preschool For All

The Preschool for All and School Readiness Initiatives were established in order to expand services, support and quality education to children ages 0-5 years and their families.

More specifically, Preschool for All provides free, part-day preschool for all 4 year olds in San Mateo County. Redwood City was chosen as one of two pilot sites for this program and in March 2005 successfully launched preschool classrooms at Garfield Elementary Charter School and Roosevelt Elementary School where all children now have access to higher levels of preschool teacher education and quality classroom teaching.

The goal is to provide these children with quality preschool services and early care and education so that they will be better prepared to make the transition into kindergarten and become successful students.

Go online for more information to the San Mateo County Office of Education or the Redwood City School District.
